Watch Collection; Episode 21: Go-Go Gadget Watch!

There goes the GI Joe post marathon. This post is partly a warm up for the next post which is GI Joe related though. So here is the overly worn Inspector Gadget watch. I love this watch, as you can see, I wore it all the time. It has a front end LED 'laser,' and a switch that sets off a blinking siren alarm. SO cool when you want to do a citizens arrest. Its also pretty comfortable for a watch that is made for an eight year old.

The watch survived many years when I was a grocery cashier. It certainly took a pounding.

GI Joe tRoC; Burger King Toys part 2

The UV Classified Reveal pen writes in invisible ink, then with the pen light on you can read the secret message. Hawk is writing "Mary is cool!" for buying me this BK kids meal at lunch time a few weeks back. The ink is slightly toxic, I drew a smily face on my upper arm and had to have my arm amputated a few days later. The new bioelectronic arm is working well thanks to this summer's Terminator toys.

The Joe Turbine Twist Howler is pretty cool. It flies on a wand and the wing engines rotate with press of a button. The only draw back is it holds only one figure.

The SFX Scanner will make continuous scans when you wave it back and forth. Amazingly everything seems to register 1869:26. It also shaves your legs really well.

GI Joe tRoC; Scarlett

Nope, not done taking new Joes out of packages and showing them off. Here's Scarlett! She comes with a sorts of stuff including a spiffy Repelling line. It works similar to your window blinds cord, pull it tight she stays stuck, let some tension go, she slides down. I will have to movie it, its pretty cool.

Not too bad of a figure. Could use some color. Not sure why they didn't choose to dress up the impact armor to at least the Sigma Six style. I'm actually considering getting an extra Scarlett and try painting her to resemble her more familiar color scheme. Never done that before, what kind of paints do I get for that fun?

Scarlett vs a Crimson Viper, who would win? The person with more red?

She has been rejected by Team Blue Camo Pants for not wearing at least blue socks.

GI Joe tRoC; Cover Girl's not that bad... (Spoilers!)

I have heard lots of people run screaming from this toy. I am here to somehow convince you that Cover Girl isn't that bad of a figure. She is actually a pretty good addition to the Joe team if given the chance.

I will agree that a front on face view isn't too flattering, nor his her possible dread hair sculpting, but if you can look at her from other view points she's a pretty good action figure.

First step, is to turn her around, so you can't see her face! Okay, okay, that was rude, joking aside please.

How about a close up, side profile. Hey not too bad now. Kind of cute, what GI Joe wouldn't want to date her?

Now she's shooting Cobra's. Pew Pew Pew!

Deep thoughts by Cover Girl.

Team Blue Camo Pants has accepted her application to join their team. She balances well with a group of similar dressed figures.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Still can't like her?

Well there is one other thing you could do with this figure.

Its not recommended.

Its actually kind of mean.

Not for the faint of heart, or the squeamish.

you could possibly...

Just maybe...

Position her...

Facing General Hawk...

With her Laptop accessory...

Something for Hawk to look at...

THEN BAM!

I'm so sorry Cover Girl. Maybe Nanomites fell in her contact lens and she will be okay for GI Joe 2.

GI Joe tRoC; Burger King Toys part 1

Guess where I am eating for some reason? Yep, Burger King, home of the whopping cool GI Joe toys. The Cobra APV is the best one out of the lot so far. Its very fun to play with.

It rolls smoothly forward and what ever you bump it into, poor Snake Eyes gets launched from the roof. If you hit, say your drink quick enough, you can launch Snake Eyes over it. For once a fast food toy does what it says.

Poor Snakes didn't make it over the Arc this time.

Then there is this Snake Eyes figure with launching Bowling Ball Pins. You are supposed to press the back button so he can flip his arms back, grab the pins, and then throw them forward. Of course it works less than 1 percent of the time. We actually had him throwing backwards better than forwards.

Even Snakes if having a tough time showing the Joes what he is supposed to do. I'll give BK points for at least getting a close figure size.

GI Joe tRoC; Hawk

Team Blue Camo Pants adds a new member, their leader General Hawk!

Hawk has everything you would want with a GI Joe leader.

Looks pretty much like Dennis Quaid too. Now I can finally reenact scenes from the Rookie, The Parent Trap, and DragonHeart combined in one twisted toy battle. Darn, I sold all my DragonHeart toys a few years ago on ebay come to think of it.

Yeah, lots of stuff. Hawk comes with two Nanomite warheads, unlike the Baronessuss one.

They don't fit to his gun though. But why would he want too?

And now for the part that makes this toy an instant classic. The Ultra Human Mission Glider thing, or the UHM-G pack!

It makes total sense. A general named after a hawk must fly like a hawk too.

If I had this toy back in the GI Joe heyday, I would have needed about twenty.

Five cheers to General Hawk!

GI Joe tRoC; Destro's feet are SO small...

I remember the days when this blog shared all toys from all backgrounds equally. Not anymore as the GI Joe; the Rise of Cobra domination continues. So here's Destro! A very cool Destro it is.

Right balance of everything for this figure. I can't remember what he was sporting for costume at the end of the movie, but I don't think this figure is authentic, but still very...

Hey! Where did he go?

Oh there he is, back on the darn thermostat with his Weather Dominator plans. Keeps getting really hot in here, then cold, then hot again. Okay that's enough Destro!

Lets drag him back to the table to ridicule his tiny feet!

Well not that tiny, but they seem very small in proportion to his body. Even the Baronni's feet are almost larger. Destro's feet are SO small he can't even fit on his display stand pegs!

...And now he is trying to sell me his cannon. Good God these weapons are overly large! I wonder what THEY were thinking, and WHO isn't thinking for Hasbro anymore? (I will take there job by the way). What Hasbro should have done with the extra plastic is build a weapon or something. All the pieces could combine for something cool. Hey, how about a M.A.S.S. device, and then NEVER sell the last set to finish it!!!

That's for a different day, different post.

So here are the big three so far. My poor old digital camera sure took a beating with this shot... Focus, focus, focus, wait Storm Shadow is too bright white, focus, focus, wait Baroness is too dark black, focus, focus, flash shoot, picture as is...

Haven't decided on getting a Cobra Commander yet. I am sure for the next movie he will have a better figure. Think I will just wait for the Doctor for now.

Anyone know any other 'Destro's feet are SO small...' jokes, send them my way.

GI Joe tRoC; Storm Shadow

It's official, GI Joe; The Rise of Cobra, makes you want to buy toys. Maybe it was that pretty spacey Hasbro logo at the beginning of the film. Some sort of subliminal message. I'm sure Storm Shadow has something to do with it.

I already have a few masked Storm Shadows, so I went straight for the unmasked version. It will be interesting to see how the next movie goes, with Destro and Cobra Commander being fully masked. I am sure the actors will want face time, so they will have to write something in. There are so many characters in the GI Joe story that have masks, and so many faces that we never really see. Now we can see Storm Shadow, and I almost think he looks cooler without the mask.

A nice supply of weapons comes with this figure.

He also comes with what looks like a floor buffer.

Oh silly me, its actually a window climber. Not sure the logistics of climbing with this goes though.

What do you think, Storm Shadow with or without the mask?

GI Joe tRoC; Cobra Steel Crusher APV

The Cobra Steel Crusher APV by Hasbro, is a must have for the Rise of Cobra line. It is a very spiffy Cobra Hummer from the Paris pursuit scene. Lots of bells and whistles on it, so take a look.

Its pretty big too, when you start attacking Joes against it. The front Iron Plow (removable) has parts for Joes to grip onto.

The top back roof section slides forward covering the sun roof, then flips down the windshield protector. A Cannon then pops out the back much like the Thundertank. There is a storage area for missiles in that compartment.

There are side missiles on each back door side, which I forgot to photo, but they only pretend shoot forward. Unlike the movie where they are directed backwards.

There is still a hole for a trooper to sit out the sun roof and shoot stuff.

Yes this is truly a Cobra Party Machine with plenty of pegs to load figures to the sides for dangerous cruises.

The only downside is the very bland Nitro Viper it comes with. I wish it just had a standard Viper for troop building.
